Combat Demonstration
Our knights will perform for any special events, schools, or festivals. We can demonstrate judicial combat and duels from the crusades, hundred years war, Renaissance, or any combination thereof. Demonstrations last from 30 minutes to all day, as you need.
We can also give lectures and hold discussions about knights and medieval history. And we are happy to talk to children of all ages.
Combat Seminar
If you are only in North Carolina for a limited time, we can set up a one-day seminar around Sword, Rapier, Pike, Sword & Shield, or any other weapon we teach. Group rates are available if your organization would like to learn to function as a medieval combat unit.
Equipment
We sell authentic armor, weapons, clothing and equipment. We also sell certified padded safety weapons. Call or stop by the academy for more information.
Girl Scout Ren Faire Patch Program
The Ren Faire patch program was established between Ren Faire and Girl Scouts NC Coastal
Pines Council several years ago. Dame Lori Winkelstein, who has been involved with Girl
Scounting since her Brownie days, heard about the program and thought it would be a great
way to get EMAA involved in the community. EMAA students and instructors present the
information required for the girls to earn the patch.
The event is called Medieval Princesses for Girl Scout Brownies, Girl Scout Juniors and
Girl Scout Teens. The girls attend a 3 hour event with 4 workshops that cover Heraldry
(includes drawing up a shield design), Renaissance Clothing, a beginning Sword class,
and a power point presentatin on History (including Royalty, Food, Games, and Daily life
of a Medieval/Renaissance girl). In February 09 we tried something new and offered a
Medieval Princesses for Girl Scout Teens. This was an all day event with six different
workshops covering the above info as well as Castles, Seige Weapons and more.
